Description:Sienkiewicz is a quilter and an author. She teaches women how to quilt, specifically appliqué. She is responsible for the revival of the Baltimore Album style quilt, in which each quilting block is unique and brought together with others to create an album of sorts. She focuses on appliqué and even hired out for some of her non-appliqué quilting. Though her love for quilting descended from elderly relatives, she did not pass it on to her children. She hopes her legacy will live on through her grandchildren. She finds happiness in her profession as a quilter. [show more]

Description:Karen Musgrave sits down for a phone interview with Elsie Campbell of Dodge City, Kansas. Musgrave and Campbell discuss Campbell's quilt entered for Ami Simms's "Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece" exhibit and how her son's time as a caretaker for a man with Alzheimer's inspired the design of her quilt. The two also discuss how quilting has allowed Campbell to travel and see the ways that quilting is taught and practiced in Brazil and France, which differ from the quilting in her region. Campbell also discusses the importance of practicing and self-critiquing in quilting, as well as how supportive her family is of her quilting career as her home studio spreads throughout her entire house. Description:Karen Bennick interviews Elsie Campbell, an award-winning quilter and former educator. Campbell discusses a quilt she created for her son, called "World Peace", which she created to commemorate his world travels. She recalls how she first became interested in quilting and her extensive interest in fabric arts from a young age. Campbell talks about her quilting influences, particularly Mennonite and Amish patterns from her childhood as a Mennonite. She talks about her creative processes in creating quilt designs and executing the designs. Campbell also details her job as an editor and writer for the "Quilting Today" magazine, in which she has been published several times. Campbell discusses her personal beliefs about quilting, including preferred design and sewing methods, how to teach quilting to future generations, and the importance of proper care and conservation of quilts by the public. Description:Patricia Plunk interviews Emily Parson, a quilter, at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas.
